WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF HYROX
HYROX is the new wave of hybrid training and a sport that I have been waiting for for a long time. After launching in Germany in 2017, it has quickly established itself as the world's fastest growing fitness sport, with the title; the sport for everybody. It’s the perfect mix between running and functional exercises.
The HYROX race is a combination of 8 x 1km Runs split up by 8 functional exercises, completed as fast as you can. You can compete solo, in pairs or as a relay and it is the same format for every event. It's tough and it hurts -it's a full send workout that targets all of your muscle groups and puts your aerobic and lactic capacity to the ultimate test, but man it is FUN!
It can be complicated to know how to prepare for this event with so many moving parts, which is why I created the program!! This 12 Week Training Block will get you ready physically and mentally whether it's your first or 10th race and is the foundation for what Will and I used to become World Champions.
You also don't have enter HYROX to do the program. This training style is pure HYBRID (running and strength). So if you are looking to get faster, stronger and fitter for every day life, then this program has you covered 🤟

Meg's training plan effectively balances strength (2 days), ergs (2 days), and running (2 days), with one rest day per week. I appreciate that most sessions are around an hour long, making it manageable for a full-time working mum with sporting ambitions without feeling overwhelmed. Additionally, her programming is accessible to those without a CrossFit background, as it doesn't require knowledge of Olympic weightlifting, which is often assumed in other Hyrox programs. The strength exercises can be performed in most gyms or in a home gym if you have a barbell or dumbbells.
I previously completed a Hyrox without a specific training plan and didn't achieve my desired time. I'm excited to see the progress I can make following Meg's plan and hopefully achieve a time I'm proud of.
